Meet the Bernelli University Faculty TeamThe Bernelli University faculty is an interesting and diverse group of men and women. Hailing from all over, many have earned doctorates and international experience. They are dedicated to creating dynamic learning environments that engage the adult student.

Irvin P. R. Guyett, Ph.D., a part-time faculty member, has extensive experience in research and consultation, helping people handle the personal and people sides of businesses. He was a medical research scientist for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for 10 years and has been president of his own consulting firm, Execucore, Inc., for 28 years. Dr. Guyett earned his doctorate in psychology from Penn State and has significant international experience. He has lived in China and has taught part or full time at five different universities, including 10 years at Carnegie-Mellon University . His focus is on leadership skills in such systems as family businesses, and he also is interested in developing entrepreneurial skills in visually impaired individuals.

Leann Mischel, Ph.D. is a part-time faculty member. She earned a doctorate in Organizational Behavior from the University of Illinois . Her research interests include groups and teams in organizational settings; individual and group processes that enhance performance; entrepreneurial companies, particularly how the characteristics of the founding team and organizational practices relate to success, growth and failure; human resource activities; and organizational attributes. She is frequently published in academic journals, including Women at the Helm: Management Succession When Crisis Hits (Iannarelli, D. O., Iannarelli, C. & Mischel, L. J. 2005) which was presented at the 2005 International Council for Small Business (ICSB) Conference in Washington, D.C.

Miroslav Pivoda, Ph.D. is a part-time faculty member. He worked as a system analyst, research worker, consultant and professor in his native Czech Republic . Besides Proposal Development, he teaches also Strategic Management, and Technology-Based Entrepreneurship. He is a regular contributor of academic cases and has participated in the Babson Entrepreneurship Conference. Dr. Pivoda received an MSc. in Mechanical Engineering and Ph.D. in Theory of Planning and Management at the Technical University of Brno, Czech Republic, European Union.

Richard Pysch, Ph.D., is a part-time faculty member for Bernelli University . He received his Ph.D. in Educational Administration from the University of Pittsburgh . Dr. Richard Lawrence Pysch is currently a school administrator in the Pine-Richland School District , where he has served for approximately 15 years. He was recently named to the Distinguished Educator program by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania . In addition, Dr. Pysch is an adjunct instructor with Chatham College and Gannon University , and an advisor to Slippery Rock University in its Elementary Education program.

Edward Thomas, Ph.D. is a part-time faculty member who has extensive background in the financial banking industry and the nonprofit sector. Dr. Thomas has a BS in Business Administration Management/Minor Economics from Olivet Nazarene University , an MBA from Robert Morris University , and a Ph.D. in Organization and Management program with specialization in finance and marketing at Capella University . He currently is on the faculty of Mount Vernon Nazarene University in Ohio .

Italo Trevisan, Ph.D., is a part-time Bernelli faculty member and also an Associate Professor of International Management and Marketing at the Faculty of Economics, Università di Trento in Trento, Italy . In addition to his work in Trento and for Bernelli University , Dr. Trevisan is a visiting professor at universities in France , Sweden , the United Kingdom and South Africa . He earned his doctorate in international business studies from the Università di Padova and a Master of Arts from the University of Cape Town . From before graduation until 1981, he collaborated in the management of the family business. His research focused on political and economic relations among countries and territories in Southern Africa . Since 1995, he has been a member of the European Council for Small Business and has been actively involved in numerous entrepreneurial and economic projects for European Union programs.
